ARTUX is not a limited company and does not represent itself as one. It is the trading name of the individual named above.
2. What data is collected
When you use the contact form on this website, you may provide the following personal data:
- Name: so ARTUX knows who submitted the enquiry and can address you appropriately.
- Email address: so ARTUX can respond to your enquiry.
- Phone number: if you choose to provide one, so ARTUX can contact you about your enquiry where appropriate.
- Plan of interest: the pricing plan you selected, if applicable.
- Message: the information you choose to provide about your project or enquiry.
You should not include sensitive personal information, passwords, payment card details or other information that is not necessary to discuss your project in the message field.
The website may also receive standard technical information when a page is requested. Depending on the hosting infrastructure, this can include information such as your IP address, browser type, device information and the date and time of a request. This information may appear in server logs maintained by the hosting provider and is primarily used for security, reliability and diagnosing technical problems.
3. Why we use it, and our lawful basis
ARTUX uses contact form information to read, assess and respond to enquiries about its web development and design services.
The lawful basis for this processing is legitimate interests. ARTUX has a legitimate interest in being able to respond to people who voluntarily contact it about its services and in communicating with potential clients about possible work.
Where an enquiry develops into an agreed project, personal data may also be processed where necessary for the performance of a contract, including communicating with you, delivering the agreed services, managing the project and handling related administration.
ARTUX may also retain certain information where it is necessary to comply with a legal or accounting obligation, or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
ARTUX does not use contact form information for unrelated marketing, and does not sell, rent or trade personal data.
4. Cookies and analytics
This website currently does not use analytics, advertising trackers or other non-essential tracking technologies.
The website does not intentionally set cookies for advertising or analytics purposes.
Your web browser or hosting infrastructure may nevertheless handle technical information that is necessary to deliver and secure the website. If ARTUX introduces analytics, advertising, embedded services or other technologies that change how personal data or cookies are collected, this policy will be updated before or when those services are introduced, as appropriate.
5. Who else receives your data
ARTUX keeps the number of third parties involved in handling personal data as small as reasonably possible. Depending on how the website and contact form are configured, personal data may be processed by the following service providers:
- Cloudflare: provides the web hosting infrastructure used to operate artux.co.uk. The provider may process technical information and server logs generated when the website is accessed. Contact form data may also pass through this infrastructure where the form is hosted or processed there.
- Cloudflare: receives and/or stores contact form enquiries so that ARTUX can read and respond to them by email.
- Google Fonts: the website currently loads the Inter typeface from Google's servers. This means a request may be made to Google when a page containing the font is loaded, which can involve technical information such as your IP address and browser information.
ARTUX does not otherwise share contact form information with third parties unless this is necessary to provide a service, comply with a legal obligation, protect its rights, or respond to a legitimate request from a competent authority.
Some service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where personal data is transferred internationally, ARTUX will use the appropriate safeguards required by applicable data protection law.
6. How long it is kept
- Enquiries that do not become projects: normally kept for up to 12 Months after the last meaningful contact, after which they will be securely deleted unless there is a legitimate reason to retain them.
- Enquiries that become projects: relevant information may be kept for the duration of the project and afterwards where necessary for accounting, tax, legal or record-keeping purposes.
- Server logs: retained according to the applicable hosting provider's retention and security practices.
Retention periods may vary where information needs to be kept for longer to comply with a legal obligation or to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim.
7. Keeping it secure
ARTUX uses HTTPS to encrypt information transmitted between your browser and the website where supported by the hosting infrastructure.
Access to enquiries and associated personal information is restricted to the business owner and any service providers that need access to process the information on ARTUX's behalf. Accounts used to manage enquiries are protected using appropriate security measures, such as strong passwords and, where available, multi-factor authentication.
No method of transmitting or storing information is completely secure. ARTUX takes reasonable technical and organisational measures appropriate to the nature and volume of the personal data it processes.
8. Your rights
Depending on the circumstances and the lawful basis being relied upon, UK data protection law gives you rights in relation to your personal data. These can include the right to:
- ask whether ARTUX holds personal data about you and request a copy of it;
- ask for inaccurate or incomplete personal data to be corrected;
- ask for your personal data to be deleted where there is no lawful reason for ARTUX to continue holding or using it;
- ask for processing of your personal data to be restricted in certain circumstances;
- object to processing where the law gives you that right, including processing based on legitimate interests;
- withdraw consent where ARTUX is relying on consent as its lawful basis for a particular use of your personal data.
Some rights are subject to conditions and exceptions. For example, ARTUX may need to retain certain information where there is a legal obligation to do so or where it is necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
To exercise your rights, or to ask a question about how your personal data is handled, email enquiries@artux.co.uk.
ARTUX will normally respond to a valid data protection rights request without undue delay and within one calendar month. Certain requests may be subject to an extension where permitted by law. ARTUX may also need to ask for information to verify your identity before providing personal data.
9. Complaints
If you are unhappy with how ARTUX has handled your personal data, please contact ARTUX first using enquiries@artux.co.uk. This gives ARTUX the opportunity to understand and resolve the issue.
You also have the right to complain to the UK's data protection supervisory authority, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), if you believe your personal data has been handled unlawfully or your data protection rights have not been respected.
Further information is available at ico.org.uk .
10. Changes to this policy
ARTUX may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes to the website, the services provided, the way personal data is processed, or applicable legal requirements.
When this policy changes, the revised version will be published on this page with a new "last updated" date. Where required, material changes affecting how personal data is used will be communicated directly to people whose information is affected.
